MSRB proposes amendments to gifts and gratuities rule
The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board has issued Notice 2004-17 (June 15, 2004) requesting comments on draft amendments to Rules G-20and G-8 concerning restrictions on dealers receiving or giving gifts, gratuities and non-cash compensation. The amendments would essentially apply existing NASD restrictions on fund distributors to dealers of municipal fund securities.
