Arizona makes changes to 529 enabling statute

The Arizona Governor signed legislation (HB 2593) on June 3, 2004 that makes changes to the state's enabling statute for the family college savings plan. Among other definitional and operational changes, the amendments call for the establishment of a program trust fund to hold the assets of all Arizona 529 programs. This change will impact the various 529 plans currently offered by the state. The Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education must promulgate rules to implement the amendments.
