Kansas' Learning Quest 529 to be overhauled

Several enhancements to the Kansas Learning Quest Education Savings Program are scheduled to take effect April 30, 2007. A new line-up of investment options will include four age-based tracks (three with a mix of American Century and Vanguard funds, and one consisting entirely of Vanguard index funds) and 14 static options (including two target-year, tobacco-free options using the LIVESTRONG name under agreement with the Lance Armstrong Foundation).

The program manager fee paid to American Century is being sliced from 0.39% to 0.20% and the annual account maintenance fee is reduced from $27 to $20 (waived for Kansas residents and for account balances of $25,000 or more.)
