John Hancock "wish I knew" survey gauges parents' regret

A survey of more than 500 parents of children currently in college or graduated from college shows over half of parents felt they did not save enough for college and that they wish they had started saving earlier. The survey was conducted for John Hancock Freedom 529 Plan by Synovate.

One-sixth of parents admitted that they did not even think about saving for college until their children were between 16-20 years old. And a majority of surveyed parents said they would be paying off student loans for year.
