Independent 529 to replace TIAA-CREF
The Tuition Plan Consortium (TPC), sponsor of the Independent 529 Plan, and TIAA-CREF have agreed to terminate their management services agreement by the end of 2009.
TPC is engaged in conversations with other financial services firms about managing the Independent 529 Plan and expect to begin negotiations with the next manager by late spring or early summer 2009.
TPC will be seeking a firm with a strong sales, marketing/distribution network.
